Climate Research Project: Acid Rain

-Acid rain is a type of climate which can occur anywhere, and what it is exactly is any other form of precipitation that is unusally acidic through wet deposition which is when acid chemicals in the air are blown into areas where the weather is wet.
-The reason Acid Rain is formed because of the chemicals in the air, sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide. The chemicals react with water, oxygen, and other things that form acidic compounds which makes acid rain in precipitation, and the process can be faster when sunlight hits the chemicals; it makes them react faster.
-To predict Acid Rain a barometer is used. It tests the precipition level and the air pressure in the atmosphere, and if the chemicals in the air reacted with the atmosphere to form acid rain.
-Acid rain affects both the environment and the people in a few different ways. For the environment, like the water and all life in it, the acid rain gets chemials in it that can lower breeding success. The water is also taken up by the plants which contaminates the plants and foods, which is consumed by people which can cause health problems. The chemicals in the air can also affect health by the people inhaling them causing heart and lung conditions, as well as premature death.
-Acid rain warnings are usually sent through television or radio. The warnings can be sent anywhere from a few days to one day, depending on how severe the storm is.
